Right now, we are seeking an InformationSecurity Specialist - Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. The Business Continuity Management team under the Corporate Information Security function is chartered with providing support necessary to achieve business continuance in the event of disruption to normal operations. The team is responsible for the development of corporate standards and guidelines for business contingency and disaster recovery planning efforts, business process risk assessments, facilitating timely restoration of business operations or relocation to an adequate alternate facility in case of disruption to normal operations, thus positioning the company for future changes in geography, products and technology. The Information Security Specialist – Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity – will assess operational risks, develop & communicate risk mitigation and recovery environment requirements, coordinate development and exercising of contingency plans associated with the company’s technology operations and business functions. The person who fills this position is expected to interact with the various technology support groups and business function owners.

  • Performingrisk analysis of corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerabilityand recommending disaster avoidance and reduction strategies, and improvedresilience capabilities.

  • Facilitateand coordinate the development of and routine updates to technology disasterrecovery and business continuity plans.

  • Recommendingrecovery strategies and options, and assisting with the implementation ofrecovery solutions.

  • Assessingthe Business Continuity implications of proposed technological changes, andcoordinating any revisions to existing Disaster Recovery/Business ContinuityPlans and Procedures necessitated by such changes.

  • Plan andcoordinate disaster recovery and business continuity exercises. Documenting theresults of all tests and exercises, and identifying any enhancements to theDisaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plans and Procedures.

  • Participatein architecture review and capacity planning discussions with company ITgroups, with a focus on proactively assuring an adequate recovery of networkand processing environment.

  • Provideexpertise and support to management and business functional areas when adisruption occurs.

  • Assistbusiness units with definition of critical, time-sensitive functions andassessment of potential business impact

  • Capitalizeon opportunities to refine production processes to mitigate exposure duringdisruptions of service and improve day-to-day operations.

  • Facilitatetimely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow-up for outstandingissues.

  • Sometravel for plan exercises and off-hour on-call support in case of an emergencyrequiring activation of all or part of the plans.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 5 years of IT operations, business continuity anddisaster recovery planning work experience with financial services and/or datacenter services provider.

  • Thoroughknowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniquesand methods used in performing risk assessments and business impact analyses.

  • Workingknowledge of Information Security, databases, networks, data and voicetelecommunications in order to assist in the preparation of recovery proceduresin those areas.

  • Projectmanagement skills.

  • Ability toplan, organize, and direct the testing of technology infrastructure andbusiness resumption procedures.

  • Strong verbal/ written communications.

  • Must beable to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively withtechnology and business partners.

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or a relatedfield; or the equivalent in education and work experience.

  • Formalcertifications (e.g. CBCP, MBCP, CISSP, or CISA) a plus.

  • Englishlanguage required. Additional spoken languages a plus.
