We’re seeking a Legal Assistant at our Western Union (WU) Global Headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

  • Perform general and legal administrative support for one or more lawyers and/or paraprofessionals. General administrative duties include, but are not limited to scheduling, arranging appointments, travel and meetings and reception

  • Requires a general knowledge within the legal function and basic analysis skills, use of initiative and some independent judgment. You will often have access to highly confidential information

  • Requires knowledge of basic operations of the legal function, corporate policy and may be called upon to interpret and communicate the lawyer's intent to others

  • Prepares and updates legal documents based on guidance from a lawyer

  • Acts as a liaison with outside counsel

What you will need to succeed:

  • Typically a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate legal department as a legal secretary or administrative assistant with 3 to 5 years’ experience supporting executive management

  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

  • Will be supporting various team members based in the US, EU, and Asia

  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with all levels internal and external to the organization

  • Must be highly organized

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with ability to complete basic drafting, edit and proofread (good vocabulary)

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities while maintaining high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks

  • Flexibility with work hours

What will make you stand out:

  • May require bi-lingual skills

  • HS degree or equivalent, minimum of a two-year degree preferred

  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required, including the ability to create and edit contracts and professional looking presentations for senior management

  • Experience or willingness to learn Microsoft Excel is highly desirable

  • An interest in learning about global privacy is also desirable
