We’re seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Audit, based in our Englewood, Colorado office (global headquarters) .The Audit team has expanded to align with operational functions within the Global Money Transfer and Payment divisions. In this role,you are expected to manage your projects or significant testing elements through the audit life cycle (including Planning, Fieldwork, Reporting). This requires expertise in operational audit, knowledge of how WU operates, and understanding of standard practices to measure WU against.
In the role, you are expected to manage projects to support the Audit Plan and the Company’s strategic objectives. The role includes developing audit projects, including scope, risk assessment, and testing attributes to mitigate regulatory risks in our Global Money Transfer and Payments divisions. Success is measured by timely identification of control gaps to help the organization mitigate risks. You will manage the audit project through planning, fieldwork, and reporting by working with our cross-functional team in execution of tasks. You will utilize analytical skills to evaluate business operations and leverage business acumen when discussing possible gaps and enhancements.

Execute strategic audit plan, focusing on key operational risks across Western Union business lines
Create audit programs to ensure critical operational elements are evaluated
Test complex or high-risk processes within the designated audits
Project manage each audit deliverable including resource utilization, budget limitations, expectations for completion, and communication of audit report and issues with client
Coach and develop team members on audit projects, including reviewing test workpapers and other written work
Collaborate with business partners to balance business strategy and emerging trends with appropriate risk management controls
Present audit deliverables and communicate with senior management and external audit
Assist on special projects tangential to audits
What you will need to succeed:
Minimum of nine years’ experience in Audit or related field
Bachelor’s degree in finance, technology, economics, business, mechanical engineering, or related area of study
Prior management experience required
Ability to lead/execute operational audits or special investigations/projects
Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated track record for analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
Detail oriented and a quick learner
Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to function well within in a team-oriented environment, as well as establish and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
Able to have transparent and productive relationships with peers and collaborate successfully
Ability to be a company-wide change-agent that influences strategic actions and mindset changes
Flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines
Travel up to 15% or as business needs arise
What will make you stand out:
Professional certification preferred (e.g., CFA, CPA, CISA, CISSP, CIA)
Big 4 Public Accounting and/or Big 4 Consulting strongly preferred
IT Audit experience a plus
Master’s degree or MBA a plus
