We’re seeking a Senior Manager, Privacy Programs based in our Denver, Colorado office (WU headquarters). In this role, you will report to the Counsel & Director of Privacy Programs and work closely with Chief Privacy Officer and others within the department on our privacy program at both the regional and global level. You will act as a senior privacy expert to help Western Union effectively implement privacy program requirements across our businesses.

  • Support business, IT, operational, marketing, customer service and other colleagues to understand how the privacy law impacts Western Union, define, review and approve business requirements, support the development of solutions to enable compliance, and help with the successful delivery of new initiatives for the program

  • Engage with management and gain commitment to the ongoing evolution of data privacy laws that require changes to the way the organization does business

  • Research, analyze, advise on privacy issues with a forward-looking strategy

  • Adopt an international outlook, as this is truly an international company

What you will need to succeed:

  • At least 5+ years privacy and/or project management experience, preferably in an international commercially focused role with financial services experience

  • Direct experience of and responsibility for regulatory compliance

  • Passion for delivering consumer happiness and protecting consumer privacy

  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations and their practical implications

  • Ability to manage complex, long-term initiatives and advise on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters

  • Ability to influence and challenge business partners in a constructive and persuasive manner

  • Ability to balance privacy risk with delivering business objectives

  • Ability to arrive at creative solutions

  • Ability to distill privacy concepts and requirements into clear recommendations for business partners

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

  • Lead the execution phases of enterprise-wide privacy projects through completion

  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and judgment

  • Collaborative team player with high level of comfort in a dynamic work environment

What will make you stand out:

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree required

  • CIPP/CIPT/CIPM Certification or similar, strongly preferred

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills necessary

  • Some occasional travel may be required, including international travel
