As an experienced leader, you provide exceptional advice, expertise and strategic direction to the Global Payments leadership team and Go-to-Market Organization including the Global Payments President, Senior Vice Presidents, Regional Vice Presidents, and Marketing team members covering a broad cross-section of communications needs and channels, including but not limited to, external communications (media relations, media training, speaking sessions), internal communications (blogs, town halls), executive communications (speechwriting, presentations), change management (customer responses, crisis communications), and digital content (editorial, thought leadership programs).
In this role, you act as a central member of the Global Payments Communications team delivering against the marketing strategy with a 360 holistic view. All while supporting a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Global Payments organization, Corporate Communications, Global Money Transfer Communications, employees, board members, journalists, partners and sponsors to ensure our collective stories are shared globally to help raise our profile in the global marketplace.
Your strategic guidance is critical to our success as you work closely and collaboratively with regional marketing teams and agency partners to develop relevant, topical and successful plans in our key markets and verticals to help raise our brand profile.
Some travel is involved with this role for corporate events; company board meetings; and global events as required. And the ability to communicate with colleagues in different time zones is essential.
The Head of Global Payments Media and Corporate Communications reports to the Head of Global Payments Marketing Communications and Brand, who reports to the Global Head of Customer & Marketing for the Global Payments organization.
Directs company-wide public relations programs across a variety of channels, demonstrating thorough awareness of business vision, strategy, execution and traction;
Grows the public relations program globally and supports the senior leadership team with media relations activities, speaking opportunities, and internal/external events
Leads the strategic planning, development, and coordination of domestic and international public relations/media relations programs to achieve company objectives, leveraging both internal and external resources;
Helps to define the overarching public relations goals for the global payments business and aligns messaging with the corporate strategy and mission statement;
Drives consumer awareness, understanding and adoption of Western Union for its business-to-business customers and partners;
Ensures consistency of messaging for the Payments business unit;
Inspires and leads team members, peers and colleagues to deliver on the division’s business priorities and implements best practices;
Guides and promotes all media relations initiatives for the division’s business partners to help grow and promote the business;
Counsels, coaches and supports company leaders in external and internal presentations and global events including media relations, public affairs, town halls, and companywide presentations with key message development and rehearsals to build the reputation for the company;
Serves as the key spokesperson and strategist among the key corporate and GMT communications teams;
Provides leadership, guidance and mentorship to all members of the Global Payments Marketing organization to drive the success of the department; and
Manages the company’s external public relations agencies to deliver cost-effective, compelling public relations programs that achieve the Global Payment’s business priorities.

Minimum educational level: Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum experience: Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in an international agency marketing, public relations, media, and/or in-house corporate communications department, with 3-5 years’ management experience
