We’re seeking a Senior Risk Assurance Manager,based in our Hammersmith, London office. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Global Head of Sales Operations, and will develop, agree and implement 1 st line of defense policies and procedures by partnering with regional VPs, and senior global stakeholders (often VP & above), across multiple internal departments. The main objective of this role is to establish processes and controls for the 1 st line of defense, to address global compliance and audit issues, regulatory, operational, market, legal, customer and conduct risk.

  • Continually develop ideas for improvementand conduct post implementation reviews to ensure new procedures and controlsare embedded into the business in an effective a timely manner.

  • Prepare and/or coordinate reports,briefing papers, summaries and other supporting material in preparation ofinternal audit and compliance meetings.

  • Design and implement ongoing coordinationof a governance structure/committee for the approval and ongoingmaintenance of global policies and procedures owned by 1st line.

  • Keep 1 st line stakeholdersabreast of regional and global regulatory developments or businesspractice evolving from associations relating to OTC derivative markets.

  • Develop programs to assess and measureimpact on key commercial objectives of controls at a regional level whenusing minimum global standards.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in setting up governance andassociated infrastructure to manage and monitor ongoing performance.

  • Experience ofworking in Global Financial Markets. Additionally, working in anenvironment where some functions are outsourced.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train (must be able toconduct group and one-on-one training)

  • Ability to influence others and manage difficult situationsat a senior/exec level, as well as deliver new governance procedures in atimely fashion across all geographies

  • Good project management (can manage to tight deadlines)

  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills (i.e., can conductroot cause analysis, make recommendations, and track results)

  • Strong written, oral, communication and presentation skillsrequired (to include comfort working in Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of specific business lines, products and functionsservices a plus; knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma also a plus

Development and rollout of management information systems, exceptions reporting, and escalation processes and procedures related to regional and global goal attainment. Provide training, educational, mentoring and support programs that assist 1st line management in developing their GTM teams at a regional level to be aware, supportive and proactive in maintaining a culture of compliance consistent with WU Way objectives. This individual will continually develop ideas for improvement and conduct post implementation reviews to ensure new procedures and controls are embedded into the business in an effective a timely manner. Some external stakeholder management may be required. Prepare and/or coordinate reports, briefing papers, summaries and other supporting material in preparation of internal audit and compliance meetings. Design, implement and ongoing coordination of a governance structure/committee for the approval and ongoing maintenance of global policies and procedures owned by 1st line Support in preparation for all meetings, including talking points for senior leadership members. Represent the RVPs as requested in internal meetings where required on audit and compliance actions. Provide with presentations on request for Senior Executive Global Payments forums. Provide timely and effective advice to 1st line Senior Executive, and RVPs on potential entry into new jurisdictions. Keep 1st line stakeholders abreast of regional and global regulatory developments or business practice evolving from associations relating to OTC derivative markets. Attend and support the RVPs with preparation for meetings with internal stakeholders including (a) integrating information and coordinating message content (b) preparation of adequate briefing materials (c) minutes and notes and (d) implementing effective follow-up mechanisms. Design and draft and rollout two-way communications to ensure the effective enablement of new procedures and controls into GTM functions. Develop programs to assess and measure impact on key commercial objectives of controls at a regional level when using minimum global standards.
