Right now, we are seeking a Business Development Associate in NYC . The successful Business Development Associate will be a member of a group of highly motivated specialists performing predominantly outbound opportunity development in the Sales Department. The Demand Generation team's number one focus is to maximize conversions of prospective business to revenue by making outbound phone calls to high value prospects that have been identified through detailed industry research. Working closely with the US sales and research teams, the successful Business Development Associate will act as a first contact with prospects and will be responsible for nurturing prospective leads and using sales skills until which time they can be passed to the Business Development Manager for close of sale. This role will be critical to new business growth.

  • Contact potential leads through outbound calling/telemarketing activities to set phone appointments for sales teams.

  • Work with internal customer data and use effective online search skills to discover potential industries and customer segment opportunities.

  • Develop and prioritize opportunities and produce lead lists.

  • Perform high level of activity trying to contact C-Level Executive by using landline, cell phones, email, LinkedIn messages, and a 2nd voice.

  • Create monthly self-generated leads non-existed in SFDC database.

  • Research and refine lead contacts and develop contact schedules.

  • Respond quickly to online lead submissions to accurately determine lead value and distribution.

  • Work with the respective sales executives to leverage regional and industry knowledge.

  • Connect with the Sales team to develop your Sales Pipeline to drive revenue.

  • Reignite unrated set phone appointments from previous month(s).

  • Increase personal knowledge of the foreign exchange and payments industry in order to educate prospects and ultimately obtain an appointment for follow up call be sales executives.

  • Accurately enter all information into CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools.

  • Meet monthly performance targets and required daily KPI’s.

  • Demo all online platforms and products to internal and external customers, and prospects.

  • Continued self-development of sales nurturing techniques and skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Must be an ambitious, competitive, self-motivated individual with a hunger to succeed in financial services sales.

  • High level of energy and a positive attitude that in line with Western Union Values.

  • Ability to achieve productivity goals.

  • Sound decision making, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Strong presentation skills to deliver a Value Proposition. Desire and ability to identify new areas for learning, take advantage of learning opportunities, and use newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.

  • Consultative selling skills a plus.

What will make you stand out :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2 plus years’ experience in a lead generation capacity.

  • B2B Sales experience an asset.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
