We’re seeking aManager, Solution Engineering based in our Pune, India office .In this role, you will be responsible for implementation of an agreed service delivery model supporting multiple Compliance portfolio / platforms through a predefined frame-work. The broad range of responsibilities include leading engineering teams, partnering with key stakeholders, both off-shore and on-shore, and delivering on the service level agreements. This includes monitoring on-going risks and providing resolutions, implementing process improvements, resource planning & optimization, performance management and driving innovation. The role requires leading, managing and growing the platform assigned to the role.

  • Leading the WesternUnion engineering teams spread across multiple location; be responsible fordesign, development, testing and delivery of Western Union IT system that arecharacterized by high volumes, low latency and developed with a broad range oftechnologies

  • The Manager will beresponsible for a group of platforms or portfolio; each platform or portfoliobeing led by an Associate Manager

  • Be responsible forend-to-end delivery of the projects as per agreed timelines, cost and qualityof deliverables. Should ensure smooth knowledge sharing between multi-locatedglobal teams and stakeholders as per the needs

  • Build software that isoptimized, well organized and maintainable. Enforce and deliver commonframework architecture and high-level design within the team. Focus onintroducing innovative engineering practices, tools and technologies tocontinuously improve the quality of the system and optimize efforts

  • Collaborate withbusiness partners to understand their needs and proactively propose solutions

  • Collaborate with otherIT stakeholders within Compliance organization & also with teams in otherbusiness areas

  • Provide the technicalleadership to the teams and guide them in resolving complex technical problems

  • Align executionpriorities – project delivery, employee goals, and establish service levelswith business and functional owners to drive high service quality

  • Responsible for teamperformance management, employee development, employee engagement, talentattraction and retention programs

  • Provide direct oversightof development teams, adhering to development standards and SLAs, andescalating risks and issues to the Engineering Delivery Head

  • Define and revise (ifneeded) metrics / performance reporting under directions from EngineeringDelivery Head to ensure viability of service levels

  • Participate in capacityand program planning exercises

  • Manage and build keystrategic partnerships across application teams and resolve issues as needed

What you will need to succeed:

  • B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering or relatedfield is required

  • 12+ years of experience in Software Engineering andArchitecture in a fast-paced corporate environment; demonstrate strongskills on Object Oriented Technologies like J2EE or .Net, RDBMS, NoSQLtechnologies and Cloud Services

  • 5+ years of IT Leadership and Management experience

  • Demonstrated experience in architecting, deploying andmanagement of solutions that are highly available, scalable and reliable(preferably in the Financial domain)

  • Excellent understanding of various development methodologiesincluding; Traditional Waterfall and Agile Development Methods (ScrumFramework, Kanban, Scaled Agile) and associated tools (Jira, Rally, Wrike etc); experience in Agile transformation journey would be an added advantage

  • Experience is implementing DevOps for the projects managed;exposure to DevOps areas like Source Control, Continuous Integration, InfraAutomation, Continuous Deployment and Cloud is must

  • Proven experience in implementation of continuousimprovement programs (through Tools and Re-use, Process Improvements andInnovation) demonstrable through quantifiable metrics

  • Prior experience in leading onshore and offshore delivery,including working overlapping business hours to partner with onshore teams

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills required

  • People Development, Coaching and Mentoring skills
