We’re seeking a Senior Associate, Solution Engineering based inour Pune, India office . In this role, you will be responsible for working with Application Development and Operational Support teams and designing and implementing monitoring for multi-tiered business applications. You will also be responsible for developing monitoring strategy and assist with its adoption within Western Union IT. This will include; process and tools development, data collection, analysis and reporting.

  • Experience using HPOperations Bridge Suite: OMi, SiteScope, NNMi

  • Experience with businessrequirements gathering/analysis

  • Experience withscripting using various tools such as PowerShell, and shell scripting

  • Experience with Dynatracetool

  • Creation of syntheticmonitors to validate the operational availability and functionality of ourproducts and services

  • Performance &Environmental governance around solutions

  • Provide analysis ofmonitored data, and actions taken when service commitments are impacted, and toprovide a feedback loop to the product construct through data intelligence

  • Produce documentation ofexpected business outcomes and validation with product or platform stakeholders

  • Identify, assess, anddevelop detailed requirements for upgrading networks as well as re-architectingnetwork segments to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth

  • Provide support servicein the visualization and reporting of network, application, and server healthand status information

  • Work with development,application support and RUN teams to ensure best monitoring practices areestablished

  • Utilize monitoring,performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment totroubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace dataand protocol activity

  • Experience designing andimplementing dynamic monitoring systems in areas of performance or capacitymanagement engineering, application monitoring engineering in a distributedsystems environment

  • Provide remoteinfrastructure support for our SaaS, PaaS, IaaS products across globallydistributed data centers

  • Conduct regular patchmanagement and system maintenance to ensure the health of platforms/servers

  • Set up health checks forsystems & applications

  • Troubleshoot and fixissue meeting SLAs and operational standards

  • Manage incidents andescalations as per policies/procedures to meet incident management and uptimeSLAs

  • Liaise with engineeringteams for RCA's, permanent resolutions on issues using tickets and chatconference rooms

  • Contribute to operationshandbook

  • Investigate and assessalerts for hardware and schedule replacement or tests

  • Day to day maintenanceand administration of the application, including on-call rotation

  • Provide solutions,consulting, Proof of Concepts and customer demos

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/IS or MCA

  • 6+ years of broad ITexperience. Experience architecting and deploying enterprise scalemonitoring solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills andclient focus a must

  • Experience working with cloudinfrastructure environments, Amazon Web Services preferred

  • Technical knowledge of network,environmental, hardware, storage, operating systems, and applications

  • Ability to demonstrate apassion and proficiency for advanced System Management skills to impactsystems architectures, investigate system-wide technical problems, anddevelop new features

  • Strong working knowledge ofnetworking technologies (including TCP/IP and DNS), including IIS and SQLServer, Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell)

  • ITIL Foundations Certification

  • IT ticket management systemexperience; preferably with ServiceNow

  • Linux/Unix fundamentals, FileSystems troubleshooting and Basic understanding of the various tools /services that are available by default with the Operating system

  • Data analysis skills andcompetence in MS Word and Excel

  • Ability to multitask and work independently on multipleprojects

  • Must be able to learn newtechnologies quickly

  • Strong analytical troubleshooting/diagnostics andproblem-solving skills

  • Ability to thrive in ahigh-volume, fast-paced environment
