We are looking for an Enterprise Application Architect, with significant experience in enterprise application architecture to steer the vision, direction & design of next gen platforms that will be the foundation for years to come. The person must be a recognized subject matter expert with strong technology focus and be able to effectively communicate across layers, influencing strategy, laying the enterprise architectural framework, and guiding the design and development of functional, technical architecture for WU next gen solutions.

Responsible for development ofapplication architecture roadmap and ongoing maintenance of enterprisearchitecture blueprint for WU and WU's application transformation program
Responsible for designing andinfluencing adoption of highly scalable, high available cloud basedmicroservices architecture
Engage across all layers andcoordinate with other architects to quickly gain understanding of currentstate, document business and application inter-dependencies, flush outdetails regarding end state vision and develop multi-year transitionroadmap
Create contextual andconceptual models to document complex business process andcapabilities
Create, manage and use IT/Technology architecture models
Define and develop servicesreference model for a high volume and scale eco-system and evangelize itacross various units and audiences within WU to ensure adoption
Participates and managesArchitecture Review Board for review, development and maintenance of EAfunction
Define and document standards,patterns, industry best practices and act as keeper and evangelizer forrepository of reusable components to be utilized across theenterprise
Serve as trusted advisor toleaders and business stakeholders in the development of the strategic portfolioor business unit plans.
Provide comprehensive analysison opportunities, risks, tradeoff associated with transformation includingcosts, impact and value and ensures these are properly estimated andcontrolled across WU' people, process and technology boundaries.
Collaborate with vendors andrepresent Western Union at industry forums; Enables a culture ofcontinuous learning and identifies opportunities to incorporate bestpractices or relevant emerging trends into Western Union's skillsrepository
Strong communication and influentialskills and able to persuasively present view point based on tier ofaudience
What you will need to succeed:
Typically, 15+ years withinInformation Technology with a concentration on Application Architecture
Application design and implementationand SAAS experience
Demonstrated experience in architectinghighly scalable, high volume, high velocity application eco-systemsflexible to support tomorrow’s paradigms
Experience with cloud computingarchitecture
Demonstrated ability to architect& design security, infrastructure, applications, networks systems thatwill have long lasting impact across the enterprise
Experience across multiplelarge projects with key roles in defining, influencing solutiondefinition, build buy decisions, implementation of tools, technologies,and processes
Demonstrated experience in EAfunction or relevant experience including setting up EA program anddriving EA maturity through reviewing and influencing application architecture& design standards and spearheading POC’s and pilots validatingcapabilities and for ready adoption across development teams
Experience in high volume, highvelocity engineering application systems required. Should have in-depthknowledge of application, application constructs, data architectures andimplementations
Demonstrated ability toidentify, POC, influence adoption of innovative technologies intomainstream
Experience in payments,banking, international money transfer and related financial experiencedesired
TOGAF or equivalent enterprisearchitecture certification
Amazon, Azure Cloud Architect,Salesforce Architect certifications preferred
4-year bachelor’s degree inComputer Science or IT related course of study preferred
