We are seeking a SeniorManager, Portfolio Management & Governance based at WesternUnion’s Digital headquarters in San Francisco, California.

  • Lead a globally distributed portfolio andgovernance team to operate the processes that supports Western Union Digital’sregionalized development model, streamline roadmap intake and prioritizationprocess, and lead process governance functions

  • Ensure regional top priorities traverse throughthe product delivery pipeline most effectively

  • Rollup roadmap and execution status from allregions and all business areas

  • Lead process improvement and process governancefunction to ensure process efficiency, transparency, consistency, and adherence

  • Provide regular metrics and reports (resource,delivery, cost, etc.) for transparency to stakeholders at all levels and assessoperating effectiveness

  • Manage end-to-end planning – Quarterly ReleasePlanning and Annual Planning process

  • Drive cross-functional teams to reach planningreadiness – such teams include executive leadership, business owners,legal/compliance, product management, project management, and engineeringteams.

  • Ensure business strategy and priority orders arereflected through planning and project execution cycles

  • Produce committed quarterly roadmap for alltracks as output of release planning

  • Exercise SAFe and Agile best practicesthroughout the development cycles

  • Analyze roadmap impact and recommend options onoff-cycle requests and initiatives

  • Help teams remove impediments and roadblocks,escalate issues where needed

  • Provide regular and timely executive levelcommunications on planning outcome and roadmap updates

  • Manage and maintain planning artifacts androadmap

  • Manage budget, expense, and resource onboardingneeds

  • Uncover process gaps, make process improvements,and drive adoption of improved process

  • Update and improve tools for most efficientportfolio and planning operations

  • Understand other process outside Western UnionDigital and can help Digital teams navigate outside processes

What you will need to succeed:

  • Team management experience in a portfoliomanagement and/or program management organization

  • Project management experience (8+ years) in bothtraditional and Agile software development

  • Portfolio management experience (3+ years) infinancial technology company

  • In-depth understanding in software developmentlifecycle for web, mobile, payments, and risk technologies

  • Ability to partner with regional leaders as wellas central implementation teams

  • Proven track record in collaborating with globalcross-functional team (cross multiple location & time zones)

  • Excellent communication skills – from executivelevel to development team level

  • Fluent in JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, andMicrosoft Office productivity tools

  • Can distill crisp communication from multipleinconsistent sources

  • PMP, Agile/Scrum certification, SAFecertification preferred
