Right now, we are seeking a SoftwarePayments Engineering Developer (Java/JEE) , based at our San Francisco, California location. As a Payments Engineering Developer, you will be responsible for developing and evolving several applications/products. This includes the Western Union Digital payment processing platform, transformation and pricing engine, systems integration, operational support, and transaction settlement processing.

Design,develop and deliver solutions using Java/JEE and a suite of relatedtechnologies/frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, EJB, Liferay,Caching, Web Services (SOAP/http, RESTful) and others
Experienceworking with EAI/Middleware products/frameworks from TIBCO, IBM, Oracle,MuleSoft a plus
Integrateapplications by designing database architecture and server scripting;studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, searchengines, and information servers.
Have provenexperience working with a team of engineers and service providers in ageographically distributed setup.
Must be ableto multi-task, handling numerous competing priorities.
Work withbusiness partners to understand their needs and proactively lead them tosolutions.
Providesolution implementation including: system set-ups, development, system andintegration testing, and user training.
Troubleshootapplication issues and coordinate issue resolution with operations,functional, and technical teams.
Providingsupport in the configuring and troubleshooting solution and providingimplementation best practices to development team.
Configuringapplications for performance, failover and guaranteed delivery.
Support onserver buildout across multiple sites for failover/disaster recovery in ahighly available eco-system
Deliver commonframework architecture and high-level design.
Develop andimplement new software, maintain and improve existing software
Understand thecapabilities and limitations of middleware products and use cutting edgesolutions to address them
Addressrequirements across a wide variety of new and old technology platformsincluding mainframes
Conductdetailed design, code and test reviews
Ensure thatsoftware functionality is implemented with a focus on code optimizationand organization
Recommendimprovements to existing software programs
Troubleshootapplication issues and coordinate issue resolution with operations,functional, and technical teams
Providecoaching to Junior Associates and work independently on simple to mediumcomplex projects
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelor'sDegree in Computer Science or Computer Information Technology orEngineering is preferred
Minimum of 3-5years of experience in software engineering and architecture experience ina fast-paced corporate environment
5+ yearsJava/JEE experience in building enterprise scale applications/products
Stronghands-on experience in Java, J2EE, JSP, EJB, HTML, XML, JSON, Web 2.0,REST/SOAP web services; Excellent SQL knowledge and experience workingwith data bases like Oracle
Knowledge ofopen source technologies and frameworks like Liferay, ServiceMix, Camel,CFX a plus
Broadexperience in integration projects based on Service Oriented Architecture
Experience inEAI/Middleware products from TIBCO, IBM, MuleSoft or others
Stronganalytical and debugging skills required
Strongproblem-solving skills, ability to triage technical issues and driveresolution with cross functional teams
StrongLinux/Unix skills required, cloud native development (e.g. AWS) a plus
Workingexperience using Agile development methodology and associated tools
Thrives onworking under pressure in a fast-paced multi-project environment
