Right now, we are seeking a VP, Digital Engineering based at our Digital Headquarters in San Francisco, California.
As the VP, Digital Engineering you will drive product engineering for Western Union Web, Mobile, Kiosk and our Orchestration Platform. Our mobile apps and web solutions enable customers around the world to send and receive funds electronically or directly in our physical locations. This platform has digitized money transfer around the world.
This individual will lead not only the new digital transformation but its migration to cloud and the re-architecture to microservices.

Owns a three-year roadmapstrategy of innovative, efficient technology solutions for digital frontend platforms
Drives break through innovationto leap frog our money movement products, while maintaining a deliverypractice of operational sustaining simplicity including cloud,microservices and block chain technologies
Leads engineering developmentwith ground up solutions that drive competitive advantage
Makes solution decisions thathelp productize capability
Smartly chooses build vs. buy
Manages a teamof approx. 350+ FTE andcontractors scrum team focus on coding, automating, testing andimplementing. Including Engineering directors, architects and engineers inthe US, Argentina and India
Works with leaders across theglobe and all functions within WU for roadmap development and deliveryexecution
Acts as a solution expert asneeded to assist with new customer acquisition
Explores and selects newtechnologies that build the foundation for new product offerings andfeatures – and builds to productize and commercialize offerings
Transform platform views to capabilities and features in alignmentwith WU products
What you will need to succeed:
12+ years of experiencetechnology industry and financial services
Extensive experience in largescale global solution eco-systems with complex and simple decisionframeworks.
Successful at managing largedistributed teams across the globe composed of FTE and outsourced teamfunctions
Multiple years building andleveraging cross-functional relationships requiring executive presence
Demonstrated accomplishment withdriving high volume system speed and integration
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills (both written and verbal). A proven record as ateam player, able to foster excellent relationships, and create apartnership atmosphere with internal and external resources whileachieving key program objectives.
Possess high energy level, senseof urgency, decisiveness, strong work ethic and an ability to work wellunder pressure. Achievement oriented with a positive,results-oriented style.
Have experience in Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google or Hybrid) based platforms
Successful implementation and management of DevOps (CI/CD) and Agileorganizations
