We’re seeking an Associate Counsel (Director level), based in our Singapore Office. Reporting to the Senior Counsel for APAC, you will provide regional legal support to the Global Money Transfer division. You will serve as a trusted business partner to business unit management and will participate as a key member of the legal team.
The primary responsibilities of this role include: advising on regulatory requirements related to money transfer, counseling stakeholders on risks associated with global retail & digital expansion and with strategic initiatives, and providing legal support with respect to corporate commercial matters.

Review, draft and negotiate agreements withWestern Union money transfer prospects and vendors in coordination withresponsible business leaders and other internal stakeholders.
Provide legal assistance to senior lawyers in thedepartment.
Provide legal advice to business partners withinthe company and coordinates with outside counsel.
Research and analyze the law on moderatelycomplex issues.
Develop organizational policies.
Stay current and advise on changes to theregulatory and competitive environments regionallt and globally.
What you will need to succeed:
10 +yearsof related/practical legal experience in a law firm or in the legal departmentof a multi-national corporation, preferably in the financial service or fintechindustry.
Proventrack record of commercial contract drafting and negotiation, working directlywith business clients and international companies.
Experiencein dealing directly with business clients at all levels, both inside andoutside of the organization, but in counseling senior business clients.
Experiencein negotiating contracts in diverse cultures with a high degree ofsophistication and creativity.
Skills &Competencies required
JurisDoctorate or country equivalent degree from an accredited school of law.
Admittedto a US State Bar or country equivalent as required by local requirements.
Native English-speaker with excellent drafting and communication skills.
Demonstratedability to conduct effective meetings and presentations to clients on complexlegal matters
